What's inside

  • Yellowfin tuna 4 × 8 oz
  • Scallops 1 lb
  • Lobster tails 1 lb

Thaw & cook notes

  • Thaw overnight in the fridge.
  • Remove fish from its vacuum packaging before thawing, unless the label says otherwise.
  • Never thaw on the counter.
  • Pat seafood dry before cooking for the best sear.

Seared yellowfin tuna steaks

Crisp outside, rosy inside — ready in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4 yellowfin tuna steaks from the box, thawed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • Green onions and lime to serve

Steps

  1. Pat steaks dry and brush with soy, sesame oil and ginger.
  2. Press sesame seeds onto both sides.
  3. Heat oil in a heavy pan until very hot.
  4. Sear 60–90 seconds a side for rare, longer if you prefer.
  5. Rest 2 minutes, slice and serve with green onions and lime.
